Media Genesis launches University of Michigan College website

Working with staff at the University of Michigan's Residential College, Media Genesis has developed a new website for the College. The Residential College is a unique college within the University of Michigan and has been used as a standard for living and learning degree granting programs across the nation and the world.

To accomodate the vast information needs of faculty, staff, students and alumni the website was designed using Macromedia Flash's dynamic text capabilities. Staff can effectively manipulate most of the content on the site with very little HTML knowledge.

The site was a collaboration with Campbell Ewald Communications - an industry leading expert on youth marketing. They helped design and structure the site based on benchmarking the most common popular sites within the target demographic. "The language and delivery was crafted to elicit interest and provide a cutting edge design to prospective applicants" explains Antoine Dubeauclard, a Principal of Media Genesis and an alumni of the Residential College. Both Campbell Ewald and Media Genesis have Senior Management who are alumni of the University of Michigan and serve on Advisory panels.

The site was donated as part of Media Genesis's corporate responsibility program. The program stipulates that each employee can nominate a non-profit site to be built pro bono based on merit and need. Other such sites in production include the Detroit Institute for Children and a Photography project. "Our hope is to create a trend of responsible corporate citizenship whereby we give back to the community and help foster its growth" adds Media Genesis President Brad Frederick. Brad, a past Troy Chamber Volunteer of the Year and Crain's 40 under 40 recipient estimates that Media Genesis has given $50,000-70,000 this year in such pro-bono project.

TravelSITE, Inc. introduces Travel Affiliate program.

Williamston, Michigan - Feburary 4 - TravelSITE Inc, a Media Genesis joint venture, introduced today an affiliate program for its online store and community site, www.travelSITE.com.

TravelSITE is the leading North American family travel destination on the web. Showcasing over 6,000 products and hundreds of stories and testimonials, TravelSITE provides insight and products for family vacations in the continental US. Products include travel accessories, maps, travel guides and many other travel related items.

Affiliate programs allow site owners and related businesses on the web to generate revenues by funneling traffic to TravelSITE. This method allows a site to leverage its traffic to generate revenues, without the heavy investment required to process, fulfill and manage these sales. This solution was developed to grow marketshare of the already profitable TravelSITE, Inc. "We've chosen an aggressive compensation for affiliate sales", adds Don Reeder, President TravelSITE, Inc. "this is important as many key affiliate programs have reduced the benefits to affiliate members."

Affiliate programs today account for a large part of retail Internet sales. "In the future," adds Brad Frederick, Managing Partner, TravelSITE, Inc, "we foresee the opportunity to create co-branded sites to further develop affiliate sales."

TravelSITE was started in 2000 as a joint venture of Troy, MI based Media Genesis and Williamston, MI based Universal Map. Seeking to fulfill the need for a North American family travel online resource, the site was met with considerable interest despite a tech slowdown and a travel slow down from September 11, 2001. "Interestingly," contends Antoine Dubeauclard, Managing Partner, TravelSITE, Inc. "we are finding a very strong interest in rediscovering America the good old fashion way, by taking the family on a roadtrip. Indeed, much more family travel today occurs within a 3 to 5 hour radius. TravelSITE provides advice and many needed resources to achieve these vacations."

TravelSITE, Inc. announces positive financial results for 2001.

Williamston, Michigan - January 1 - TravelSITE Inc, a Media Genesis joint venture, board of directors announced today that it had a record year showing a positive financial year end. While not quite as meaningful for a two year old company, this statement in light of the technology downturn and the travel industry crunch is indeed very meaningful.

TravelSITE was founded in 2000 in the midst of a period of redefinition for dot.com based businesses. "The struggles of the time forced us to create a very concrete and very conservative business plan" said Don Reeder, President of TravelSITE, inc. at the annual board meeting. "In the 2001 year, we addressed, met and exceeded the challenges of the industry, both in travel and technology" added Brad Frederick, who heads the technology initiatives for TravelSITE.com.

TravelSITE also has plans for a Travel Affiliate program which would allow companies to leverage the 6,000 plus product inventory offered by TravelSITE.com. "By introducing this program, we're hoping to diversify even further our revenue streams and have an even more succesful 2002" added Antoine Dubeauclard, Managing Partner.
